GSS Global is an international provider of electronic components, originally founded in Japan. As the company expanded into new markets such as Australia and Vietnam, there was a clear need for a unified and modern identity — one that could reflect both its technological ambition and its cultural roots. I was tasked with creating a brand system that feels global in scope while staying authentic to the company's origin.
The founding team consists of three core members, whose shared vision and leadership inspired the core idea of the logo. I designed the symbol to feature three wing-like petals, representing unity, balance, and collaboration. These three forms also echo the shape of a Japanese sakura (cherry blossom) — a meaningful cultural reference that embodies beauty, resilience, and renewal.
Beyond that, the symbol also draws from the geometry of electronic circuits — grounding the identity in technology and innovation. And its circular composition subtly mirrors the red sun disc from the Japanese national flag, reinforcing heritage, harmony, and completeness.
This layered symbolism allowed me to craft a mark that is minimalist in form yet rich in meaning — one that feels precise, forward-looking, and deeply rooted.
I selected Neon Technology Turquoise as the primary brand color to express energy, clarity, and modernity. It’s balanced by Professional Dark Blue and Modern White, which bring a sense of depth, trust, and clean sophistication to the brand palette.
For typography, I used the Saira type family — a structured, elegant sans-serif that supports both readability and a contemporary tech feel. I also designed a full suite of brand elements, including background patterns, decorative icons, and presentation templates to ensure the identity could be flexibly applied across global touchpoints.
This brand identity marks a new chapter for GSS Global — one that connects tradition with technology, local pride with international presence.
